It is always in Wendell and is usually Labor Day weekend.
It is the First Sunday in August and the preceding Saturday
The City of Colton is hosting the 5th Annual, Wyatt Earp, and Old West
Day's, Friday thru Sunday, October 24th - 26th, 2003. The City was founded
by the Earp Family in the 1880's. This is the first year that we will have
the ability to host this event. Old West Day's presents and educational,
historical walk through the events of our nation in the 19th Century. Old
West Day's gives re-enactors a venue where they can put together a complete
staging of their chosen field of historic preference, thus showing the
public how each occurrence of the 19th Century evolved into creating this
great nation of ours.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet and talk to Lincoln, Lee & Grant;
witness Civil War battle re-enactments and living history; a mountain man
rendezvous; Indian era Calvary; various static displays and entertainment;
stunt shows; stagecoach rides; old west vendor town; food vendors; S.A.S.S.
Cowboy shooting competition and the California Mounted Shooters Competition.
Evening entertainment features a Civil War Cotillion Ball; Butterfield Stage
Cowboy Ball and Sunday morning we hold Cowboy church.
